瀬居島

坂出市瀬居島はかつては離島だったが、瀬戸大橋架橋工事に伴い、番の洲埋め立てと共に陸続きとなった。
その島で生まれ育ち、元々は漁労をおこなっていなかった西原さんは10年前より（撮影当時）延縄による穴子漁を始めた。
島民として高度経済成長期からの島の変化と、西原さんが抱いている近代の漁師への関心と自信が営む漁労についてのお話を伺い、穴子延縄漁へと同行させていただいた。

Seijima, Sakaide City, used to be a remote island, but it became connected to the land with the construction of the Seto Ohashi Bridge and the reclamation of Bannosu.
Mr. Nishihara, who was born and raised on the island, did not originally engage in fishing, but started fishing for conger eel using longlines 10 years ago (at the time of the photo shoot).
interviewed Mr. Nishimura about the changes the island has undergone from the period of high economic growth to the present.
I then listened to Mr. Nishihara talk about his interest in the relationship between modern fishermen and society, as well as his own fishing experience, and then accompanied him on a longline fishing trip for conger eel.
